Frequently AskedQuestions
Answers to the most common questions about DialcaLink, the Android application that lets you sync SMS messages and call history between your devices over a secure local network.
1What is DialcaLink and what is it for?
DialcaLink is an Android application that lets you access SMS messages and call history from another Android device. It turns one phone into a Gateway while your primary device acts as the Client, keeping both connected over your local network.
2Is DialcaLink free to use?
Yes. DialcaLink is completely free and all of its core features are available without subscriptions or hidden fees.
3Does DialcaLink require an internet connection?
No. DialcaLink works over your local network. As long as both devices are connected to the same network or hotspot, synchronization works without relying on the Internet or cloud services.
4How does DialcaLink connect my devices?
Pairing is simple. The Gateway generates a QR code that the Client scans to establish a secure connection. Once paired, devices reconnect automatically whenever possible.
5What information does DialcaLink synchronize?
DialcaLink synchronizes SMS conversations, incoming and outgoing messages, call history, and contact information to provide a seamless communication experience.
6Can I reply to SMS from my Client device?
Yes. DialcaLink allows you to send and reply to SMS directly from the Client device through the connected Gateway phone.
7Where is my data stored?
Your synchronized data is stored locally on your own devices. DialcaLink does not upload your messages or call logs to external servers.
8Is DialcaLink secure?
Yes. Communication happens directly between your devices over your local network, without requiring online accounts or third-party cloud infrastructure.
9Do I need to create an account?
No. DialcaLink does not require registration, email addresses, or online accounts. Simply install the app, pair your devices, and start using it.
10Can I use any Android phone as a Gateway?
Yes. Any compatible Android device with a SIM card can act as the Gateway, while another Android device connects as the Client.
11Will synchronization continue in the background?
Yes. DialcaLink uses a foreground service on the Gateway to keep the connection active and maintain reliable synchronization, even when the application is not open.
12Does DialcaLink use cloud services?
No. DialcaLink follows a local-first approach. Your communication stays between your own devices without passing through remote servers.
13Does DialcaLink display advertisements?
No. DialcaLink does not include advertisements that interrupt or affect the user experience.
14Which platforms are supported?
Currently, DialcaLink is available for Android devices. Support for additional platforms may be considered in future releases.
15How do I get started?
Install DialcaLink on both devices, choose which one will act as the Gateway, scan the pairing QR code from the Client, grant the required permissions, and you're ready to synchronize your communications.
